Elopement at Villa Le Fontanelle in Florence | Diana & Colin

Diana & Colin

An elopement, two hearts that come together in a charming location far from their native country and with only two people who know them best to witness their love: this was the idea of the two New Yorkers Diana and Colin.

Autumn-style Elopement

Diana and Colin’s idea was to create a romantic autumn wedding different from the usual summer events and with a style contrary to the spring ones that instead require more freshness. They wanted an elopement wedding with only the most important people in their lives: their mothers.

The dream of this couple was a location surrounded by greenery, with an enchanted, fairytale and even a little mysterious atmosphere. They imagined a walk on colorful leaves just fallen from the trees, the sparkling air and the scent of the surrounding nature. In short, a warm and magical atmosphere with bright colors that capture attention.

Small wedding at Villa Le Fontanelle

Villa Le Fontanelle represented the perfect place to make this dream come true. A historic villa immersed in the Florentine countryside, surrounded by over three hectares of olive grove which, from the hill, dominates the city of Florence. A location that seems to come out of a fairy tale: with its crenellated tower, luxurious interior rooms and period furnishings.

The ceremony took place in late October, on an unusual hot day. We organized the event outside the villa in front of an original stone fort from the medieval period.

Symbolic rite: a toast to life

After exchanging their wedding vows and rings, Diana and Colin “toasted to life”: a symbolic ceremony that makes wine the nectar of future life together shared by the same cup. A romantic and emotional moment for those present with a beautiful floral arch as frame.

The main mood of each set-up was autumn, in fact all the decorations brought to mind this magnificent season. We used a color palette in warm shades, from brown to purple-red. Olive and eucalyptus leaves, berries, carnations, hydrangeas, roses and dahlias were the protagonists of the floral arrangements.

Wedding reception decorations

The wedding lunch took place under a flowery pergola. The elegant and refined mise en place included gold cutlery alongside glasses and plates also characterized by a fine gold line on the edge. Above the ivory runner, two floral cups further embellished the table with fresh seasonal fruit such as apples, grapes and pomegranates.

A two-story mini naked cake was the star of the cake cut. Placed on a pedestal and surrounded by beautiful seasonal flowers, coordinated with the whole floral arrangement, it represented the closing moment of the event with Florence as the background.
